Steve Reichmuth MUFON Northern California

UPDATED Feb. 2008

Hello Everyone,

Here are the most updated UFO Weather Maps for October, November, and December 2007.   Note the high total number of sightings.  Of particular note is the huge drop in total sightings in December 2007 compared to the record high numbers the two previous months.   The January 2008 Map currently is now being plotted, and the early data shows a resumption of the usual high total numbers.

Very interestingly, despite the drop in total numbers in December 2007 UFO map, note the already building activity around Stephenville, Texas already (south west of Dallas Fort worth area).   This cluster also includes one entity or alien sighting.

The blue map symbols are MUFON, NUFORC in red, and new with December 2007, UFO's Northwest data base has been added in green.   Crosses represent 'lights' , triangle symbols of course 'triangle objects', round dots are disc shapes, square symbols represent 'other shapes'.   A standing figure represents an entity represents a CE-3 or even a possible CE-4 report.   These entity reports are rare, but an area just west of Stephenville shows one in December 2007.   Three dots in a triangle grouping represent 'formations'.   Flag symbols represent 'hoaxes' and 'IFO's', these either suspected from reading the reports (Venus)  and/or verified by UFO investigators in the field.

The now famous January 2008 'mini flap' around Stephenville - particularly on January 8, 9, 10, 2008 has not been reflected to it's full extent yet, but the December 2007 UFO map already shows something building in that area regionally.   Around the beginning of the second week in January of the new year, the media's attention would 'take off', and the little town of Stephenville would gain world wide attention.

The October 2007 map shows one odd anomaly from the Mufon CMS data base.  Some 30 to 40 reports from one individual 'serial ufo witness' around Phoenix, Arizona.   For accuracy sake in this experiment, the maps still show this anomaly.

Consistently, UFO reports from all the data bases continue to show many sightings along Interstate highways.

Also these maps show the effects of population densities on UFO reports.   However remarkably, these clusters of reports around population centers actually shift around.   Why do population areas show higher activity one given month, then just as amazing, little to no reports the next month?   These reports from independent observers, either across town, or across a state submitting their reports over the internet.

I am displaying the North American world region only.   But, I can send UFO maps easily from this same time window of different parts of the world also upon request.

Respectfully,

Steve Reichmuth

Some fascinating patterns do seem to appear consistently with each new monthly map.

One pattern is in the number of sightings always around & along interstate highways.   My program allows hyperlinks to the original witness report to evaluate a given sighting related to geographical relationships.

Because I can read the witness reports arranged then geographically, the reports I have discovered are not from travelers along these highways!    But are consistently from the local residents living near these highways.   The phenomenon is naturally mobile, but the witnesses are from their viewing vantage point, based on reading these reports are not.   One possibility maybe is that the intelligences behind the UFO's are using (perhaps ironically?) among other navigational aids of their own just simple unsophisticated visual earth references, what human pilots refer to as 'visual dead reckoning' . The interstates at night, lit with moving auto head lights would seem to make an attractive navigational aid if you have ever seen them from an airplane.  See the cropped close up of my October 2007 map using sighting information reports from Mufon and the NUFORC data bases (static non interactive Gif images).A long necklace of sightings along the west coast along the great interstate 5 from Mexico to Canada.  A similar pattern in Colorado.   Another noticeable broad pattern consistently is along the Appalachian mountain range north into New England.  Why?   It is fascinating.

Also, as one would imagine, sighting frequency in any geographical area related to high population has been confirmed.   But what was not expected was the shifting around of high numbers of sightings with any given population centers.   Many high population areas will have intense activity one month, little to none the following month, shifting around from one high population area to another, then back again.   So many seemingly independent reports within a narrow time period, then just as interesting, so many not reporting another month.  It does seem to suggest something.

Another fact is, my maps do not record all UFO activity, just all activity reported.  My maps also plot map symbols reflecting different classes of craft seen.  Nocturnal lights, triangles, discs, crop circles, alien reports (alien reports average about 1 to 2 a month).   Airborne sightings (witnesses in aircraft plotted - about two a month from both professional pilots anonymously & passengers).   October was an average to high month in total numbers of sightings from both data bases.  Total for October 2007 - 441 world wide from the two data bases.  This is up on average monthly from 2 years ago.   About a 20% increase.   This could reflect an actual increase in aerial activity, or more public awareness of the two databases across the internet.

What is now being worked on with Mufon (Jan Harzan) is in developing a 'real time' map program.  One were new incoming sighting reports will be plotted on a public internet map as they come into the data bases.

I know in my local UFO investigations within the same general area,  I will after the interviews are concluded (but not before!)  show artist drawings by a local police forensic artist helping Mufon drawings of objects described by witnesses from other sightings I have investigated in the past.   I have recorded with my digital camera the surprise and shock of these witnesses seeing these drawings.   'That is exactly what I saw!'  The same reaction individually among multiple witnesses reporting the same event.   Apparently the same craft maybe appearing locally again and again?  As UFO investigator, one naturally begins giving pet names to particular craft that seemingly reappear in 'serial' fashion locally.

There are also what appears to be a wandering distinct group of red light type UFO's that swarm and visit certain areas.  They will appear suddenly over a few nights or several weeks, then disappear abruptly.   Then seemingly reappear in a different area of the country.   Random formations or groups of red lights or small orbs first appeared over Cleveland, Ohio in 2005, then a few months later inundating west Chicago in the fall (Tinley Park, near Chicago).  Then the following spring, descending for two to three intense nights over Portland, Oregon. Multiple witnesses reported in the NUFORC eerie red lights flying east over the Columbia river areas hours later departing Portland, flying in odd 'V' formations.   These maps bring these facts out clearly.

Research continues.  I most welcome those who also view these maps to point out other patterns that based on local knowledge may not be clearly evident to others.
